PGC Range Locations Pioneer owns two properties, each with their own distinct personalities and uses: McBride, the outdoor range, and Brickyard, the indoor range. McBride (Outdoor Range) map below Pioneer has owned the property in northwest Johnson County which we refer to as the McBride property for many years since outdoor shooting ceased at Brickyard. Our members carry the same traditions to McBride. This range is so named in honor of one of the early members who was an avid shooter, honorable, forward thinking, civic minded citizen deserving of such remembrance. May he rest in peace. The McBride range is comprised of 380 acres of rolling land in northwestern Johnson County Missouri. It is located north of U.S. 50 highway about 20 miles east of Lees Summit. Access is also available by exiting I-70 at Bates City and traveling south. Ample space is available for the anticipated growth of new shooting sports. This property is the premiere comprehensive shooting range in the area. The various firing ranges are separated from each other so that all sports can operate simultaneously with no interference from each other. This range is available 365 days per year during daylight hours. All weather roads and a new and modern clubhouse complete with kitchen, showers, RV hook-ups, and a telephone are provided at that range for the convenience of the members and their guests. Some of the shooting sports available for your enjoyment at the McBride range are: Shotgun: A trap range complete with a new remote control electric trap, manual traps, and ample space for informal clay target shooting. Small-bore: Silhouette. Black powder: Firing line with covered concrete benches and ranges to 200 yards. Cowboy Action: Multiple ranges available. Small-bore rifle: Outdoor facilities with covered firing points. High-power: CMP matches on the 200 yard range. Benchrest: Covered firing points with stable concrete benches and ranges to 200 yards. Pistol: All disciplines General Use: Firing Points are provided for the casual shooter with covered concrete benches. Ranges are up to 200 yards.
